Parents and community members, we will be conducting our state required intruder drill on Thursday August 28, 2025. Please remember that this is only a drill that we practice so that we can be better prepared in crisis situations.

Parents, progress reports will be available for you to view in Parent Portal this coming Thursday, August 28. Paper copies will not be sent home, but you can come by the school to get one if you would like one. If you have any questions about grades, please contact your student's teacher.

Show off your skills and represent Westwood in a poster contest! Use your creativity and artistic talent for a chance to represent our school in this year's district wide poster contest. The posters are due September 10th! See the attached image for poster requirements and important information.

Join us for Westwood's Instructional Technology Family Night August 28th from 5 to 7 pm. On this Title I night, we will learn about the technology and websites we use for instruction, explore the Jennifer Smith Memorial Garden, enjoy Page's Shaved Ice, and shop at the Scholastic Book Fair! Attendees will be entered in a giveaway for shaved ice and books from the book fair! See you there!

Out of an abundance of caution, Abbeville County School District will operate on a two-hour delay on Thursday, January 23rd. Stay safe everyone!

Parents we apologize for not sending Chromebooks home today. Your child’s teacher will reach out to you through class dojo with the paper and pencil activities that need to be completed Wednesday. We will have that out to you by 8:00 am. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Due to the possibility of inclement weather threat in our area this afternoon, Abbeville County School District will be dismissing early at 1pm today. All after-school activities have been cancelled. All schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Wednesday, January 22. Buses will run two hours later than their normal schedule, and school start times will also be delayed by two hours. The district will continue to monitor weather conditions closely and provide updates through our website, social media platforms, and local news outlets. Westwood will serve breakfast from 9-10 with lunch to follow. We will observe a normal schedule after 10:00.

Parents of our afterschool Lego Robotics, due to the impeding inclement weather, we will cancel our program today. Thank you for your support and understanding.
