Westwood Elementary National Beta Club Earns National Honors in Nashville
Abbeville, SC – Westwood Elementary School's National Beta Club proudly represented the school, district, and community at the National Beta Convention held this summer in Nashville, Tennessee. To qualify for the national convention, Beta Clubs were required to place among the top ten in their respective competitions at their state convention.
Representing Westwood Elementary were Beta Club sponsors Stephanie Stanley and Amanda Wrenn, along with club members John William Baughman, Josie Beth Fulmer, Brantlee Jackson, and Addy Mae Little.
The club returned home with an impressive 2nd Place National Award in Apparel Design. Their winning t-shirt design successfully captured the convention's theme while demonstrating creativity, originality, and marketability. The achievement highlights the students' teamwork, artistic talent, and dedication to excellence.
Westwood also celebrated an individual national achievement as Josie Beth Fulmer earned 10th Place in Digitally Enhanced Photography, showcasing her creativity and technical skill among students from across the nation.
In addition to the students' success at the National Convention, Westwood Elementary's National Beta Club has recently received two prestigious national recognitions.
The club was named a National Beta School of Merit, an honor awarded to schools that include members from every eligible grade level in their National Beta Club, demonstrating a strong commitment to leadership, character, achievement, and service throughout the school.
Westwood was also recognized as a National Beta School of Distinction. This distinction is awarded to schools that increase their National Beta Club membership by at least 10 percent during the current school year, reflecting the club's continued growth and the positive impact it has on students.

"We are incredibly proud of each of these students for representing Westwood Elementary and Abbeville County with excellence on the national stage."
